With this post, I am introducing a new series on this blog. Every Friday, I will be sharing a portrait, either candid or posed, together with a bit of backstory about the circumstances of the shoot and some details about the post-processing. In addition, every Monday I will share a natural landscape photo in the same manner and a cityscape photo every Wednesday. Here’s hoping this will become a welcome tradition, after a while.
I saw this cute girl as I was walking along the top of Dubrovnik’s ancient walls. She was posing for a friend, the light was soft and I couldn’t resist stealing a picture of her.
I had my Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 lens mounted on the camera, so I just zoomed it all in at 55mm and opened it up to f/2.8 to blur the background as much as possible. I am happy that it ended up being soft enough but not too much. It lets the subject pop out from it, but it still retains enough detail and context. Not bad for a quick snapshot.
