Standing In The Tripod Holes Of Giants (II)

Standing In The Tripod Holes Of Giants (II)

I am an avid follower of Matt Brandon’s blog and today I happened to read his announcement of an East Java-Bali photo tour here: .

The blog post is illustrated by a set of truly wonderful photos, of course, but one in particular caught my eye. It’s a photo of the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple in Bali. You can find the photo, which was actually taken by Dave Ray, on Matt’s post by scrolling about half-way down. I have reproduced here.

Compare that photo with the one below, that I took in Bali on August 27, 2012, and you will realize that we had our tripods set down in pretty much the same exact spot. Even the weather and the disposition of the leaves on the surface of the lake are strikingly similar. I guess they were taken just a few days apart.

I hope Dave doesn’t mind that I reprocessed mine to make it look a bit more like his.
