“Vertoramas” Can Be Fun

Here’s a simple tip: When shooting a panorama, do not limit yourself to swinging your camera horizontally. Sometimes, subjects lend themselves to taking a vertical series of images that can be stitched together in PhotoMerge or other kinds of stitching software.

The image below—taken last December in Naples’ Galleria Umberto I—is composed from eight different photographs and assembled using Photoshop’s PhotoMerge module.
